Channels connect connect Integrations with Meeting Types, and are what we use to automate interactions with platforms like Salesforce.com. There are 3 types of channels, Import, intercept, update.
Channel Type | Description |
Import | Logic-based filters "listen" to integrated systems, import relevant contact data, assign it to a meeting Instance, and A) Initialize the meeting Instance or B) Initialize & then Activate the meeting instance. |
Intercept | Logic-based filters used to intercept and deactivate a meeting instance when logic is true in an external system. |
Update | Kronologic to Integrated system write functionality based on Kronologic status changes. |
Setting up an Import Channel.
Import Channels - Logic-based filters "listen" to integrated systems, import relevant contact data, assign it to a meeting Instance, and A) Initialize the meeting Instance or B) Initialize & then Activate the meeting instance.
Import Channels work with specific Meeting Types. An infinite number of Import Channels may be configure per Meeting Type, but only one Meeting Type can be configured per Import Channel.
We observe fields that are selected in the channel, when they meet correct criteria to be considered "TRUE", Kronologic performs the desired action regarding the associated meeting type. (Create Contact, Initialize an instance, or activate the instance).
Duplicates are avoided in 2 ways
1. Contacts that pass a channel's logic criteria are only imported if they meet that criteria AFTER a channel as been modified in any way (including activation).
2. A second instance of a specific Meeting Type can not be assigned to a contact. (Beta - Users can select if certain Meeting Types can be scheduled more than once per contact. If they are able to only 1 instance per contact can be in the future or present at any given time.)
Intercept Channels
Intercept Channels listen to external system and deactivate an instance in Kronologic associated when a certain logical criteria is met.
Like Import Channels, each Intercept Channel works with a specific Meeting Type. An infinite number of Intercept Channels may be configured per Meeting Type, but only one Meeting Type can be configured per Intercept Channel.
Update Channels
Update Channels represent the Kronologic system's ability to write to another external system based on an instance's status change. A list and flow chart of all possible instance statuses can be found here, on the Instances Academy page.
A single channel is able to support a single status change for a specific Meeting Type.
